Ritual in Death （2008-11-08）
Eve and Roarke were at Palace Hotel, attending a posh party of Roarke’s acquaintance. It was interrupted by a naked man who was covered with blood and carrying a knife. He was drugged and had no memory. They followed bloodstains left by him and found a mutilated female body on a bloody pentagram. From the looks of the crime scene, everything indicated a satanic ritualistic murder.
I believe the case was solved in the shortest period of time in the In Death series. It felt like that soon after I started getting into the story, it ended. Having said that, as a novella, it wasn’t bad at all. I enjoyed it. FYI, Isis from Ceremony in Death reappears in this story.
* Just in case you were wondering, Salvation in Death comes first in the order, then Ritual in Death as the both books were released on the same day.
